Herefordshire
Walks
Herefordshire
is a very rural county (about 95%), with a low population density, famous
for its Hereford beef cattle and orchards. It boasts the World’s largest
cider factory. Geographically it is fairly flat and dissected by the River
Wye, the fifth longest in the country. The Wye valley is a famous beauty
spot and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) with good views from Symonds
Yat Rock
and is popular with tourists.
Herefordshire
is blessed with another AONB, or at least part of it namely the Malvern
Hills. Herefordshire Beacon is part of that range.
