Papagayo

Some of the best sandy beaches on Lanzarote are to be found at Papagayo. “Papagayo” seems to refer to a pretty wide area culminating in the Punta Del Papagayo. My favourite spot is the horseshoe bay of Playa Papagayo, with handy bars above it, which have shade and toilets.

My walk from Playa Blanca to Punta del Papagayo will take you there but if you want to drive, there is a dirt road (small charge) which runs from the roundabout at the end of the Calle Del Rubicon out of Playa Blanca. I have marked the roundabout with a car symbol on the Google map.

You will need to curb you sensitivities at the beaches as they are popular with naturists – mostly without the physique to justify the display!
