Los Hervidos

Los Hervidos means literally the 'Boiling Waters'.

At the south west of Lanzarote, the coast takes the full force of the Atlantic and the waves crash dramatically into the cliffs. At Los Hervideros, they pound into a number of caves and blowholes. The area is in the depths of a huge lava field and a number of walkways have been built into the lava on the cliff edge to give you the best views whilst being safe. You really feel you are in among it!

Inland from here is a dramatic view of a red volcanic cone rising from the black lava.

Best of all, it is a free visit! There is a large car park.

It is clearly signposted off the LZ-703.
