Centro de Visitantes 

Or to give it its full title, Centro de Visitantes e Interpretacion de Mancha Blanca, is a wonderful insight into the world of volcanoes, the geology behind it and the flora/fauna of the island. It is a modern centre with decent public toilets, souvenir shop etc, set in the middle of the lava fields. It may not look much from the outside but much of it is at lower levels, not obvious from the outside, so allow plenty of time. At the lowest level is a simulation of a volcanic eruption, which is quite well done and you feel the earth move! This is activated at periodic intervals which are prominently announced.
